Mr. Premarajan, Mr. Kurup, and Mr. Joshi called on the present Raja of Travancore Palace, Sree Uthradam Thirunal Marthanda Varma, on the evening of December 22 . This coincided with the 76 anniversary of Martha Root's December 21-23 visit to the Raja's elder brother (who was the king at the time) where she gave the Message of the Faith. This visit was mentioned in the book ‘Martha Root - Herald of the Kingdom’. It was considered as the first occasion when an individual in the present Kerala State had heard of the Faith. The present Raja was 12-years-old at the time.
The Raja was very glad to see his visitors. He said that many good things started from this Palace, but nobody remembers this now. His visitors presented a few sets of books to him and he asked many questions.
One year before Martha Root's visit, the King at that time had declared "temple entry" to all castes on 12 November 1936. When the Raja was told the significance that this day holds for Bahá’ís all over the world, he expressed surprise and happiness.
