Orissa witnessed a beautiful seminar on 11th, 12th and 13th of February for selected friends to build their capacity to interact with society in external affairs works.
On the invitation of the External Affairs Department of the National Spiritual Assembly 39 friends from different part of Orissa who are involved in the Five Year Plan and also engaged in media, web sites, and different NGO's participated.
The opening session started with few beautiful prayers by some of the friends. Chairperson Mr. Surya Prakash well come Executive Director of the Department of the External Affairs, Mrs.Farida Vahedi and the co- facilitator Miss.Nilaskhi for the seminar from National office in presence of the all participates. He handed over the programme to Mrs.Vahedi for further facilitation. The participants discussed selected paragraphs of the Ridvan 2010 message from the Supreme Body and consulted on social action, social discourses and the two essential parts of the growth process, expansion and consolidation, friends learned how the twin process leads towards the transformation of the society.
On the second day of the seminar they studied the concept papers, "Advancing the Equality between Man and Women" in which the friends presented their deep opinions on gender equality. All of them discussed intensely on today's male preferred society and the second concept paper was on "Science, Religion and Development".
The third day started with beautiful devotional. The participants had a review session with the help of the Auxiliary Board members. A powerpoint presentation on development and rebuilding process of the society was viewed. Other topics discussed were Internet and how to promote the social discourses through social networking sites like Face Book, Twitter, blogs etc. The participants learnt about the Baha'i websites and how it can bring awareness in the life of the current society.
